Storage Quotas, Retention & Purging

Retention Tiers

1. Active Research CephFS (cephfs-sc): Retained throughout the lifetime of the funded project or grant.
2. Local Node Scratch (local-nvme-sc): Ephemeral. Purged immediately upon pod termination.
3. Decommissioned Namespaces: When a research namespace is decommissioned in the User Portal, an automated Ceph snapshot is retained for 90 days in archival storage before permanent deletion.

Quota Warnings & Monitoring

• When namespace storage exceeds 85% capacity, an automated notification is sent to the designated PI.
• At 100% capacity, write operations will block (Disk quota exceeded), while read operations remain unaffected.
• Monitor your usage in real-time on the User Portal Dashboard.
